2k always delivers a great basketball game, but there are always things to be wished for. There is always so much to add, so many great possibilities for this game, and they reach some of them but not all. So here is my comprehensive NBA 2k13 wishlist:
Preorder Now!
Game Modes
2k12 had pretty much every game mode you could wish for. They hit a home run with my player, and just further added on the fun with their creating a legend mode, both could use some work however.
My Player:
My player is a great game mode, but it has a lot of problems. First of all, your players start out terrible, but they progress much too fast. You should not be able to reach 99 by the end of your first season. They need to make you able to change the sliders. The customization has been lacking the past few years though. We need more voices, haircuts, tattoos, accessories and be able to customize personality traits. Is your player loud and obnoxious, volatile, quiet and unassuming? These should all be things you can change.
I like the idea of having a house mode like in NFL 2k5, it would be fun to just play around with. Maybe they could add some minigames or something? Reopen the option to play summer league games, and bring back the combine, it was so much better than the rookie showcase.
The D-pad could be used to control on court behavior. Different directions could be arguing the call or hyping up the crowd. Announcers should talk about you more, and actually recognize when you reach an accomplishment. Scoring 100 points, and the announcer just being like, "Oh, he scored 100 points, cool."
Most of all, the game mode needs to be harder. You shouldn't see guys averaging 50 points per game on hall of fame in their second season, that's for the easier difficulties. When I play on hall of fame I want to work for my points.
Creating a Legend
I like CAL because you get to play with one of your favorite players, and you don't have to go through that awkward phase where your player just sucks. It is pretty much the same thing without all the endorsements and interviews, which is part of the fun of my player, and I think they should be put into CAL. They should allow you to play with created players and legends also. Just make these, plus the my player changes I mentioned before and this mode will be great.
Association
Association is great, and deep, but there are definitely improvements to be made. First off, I think you should begin in training camp before the current season. Training camp should be made more fun and interactive, it could be spent improving your team chemistry and players for the next season. The trade AI needs to be improved. It is too easy to build a great team by trading some good players for stars, and the AI is easily manipulated.
Team chemistry should play a much bigger role, players should show more loyalty to teams when they are in good situations. Allow for us to track how much fan support they have and have the stadium reflect that. If your team is terrible, your stadium shouldn't be filled to capacity every game.
Players should approach you with problems they have with the team, and possibly give you feedback on how best to resolve it. Players shouldn't sign instantly with teams in the offseason, they should wait for the best offer available.
Players
We need more signature styles, players need to feel like they do in real life. Guys like Rudy Gay, Kevin Durant and Demar Derozan need their own dunk packages, more layup packages, and perhaps even the ability to create your own package. More floaters, pullups, spin and hop shots, and of course improved moves.
Every player's arm length is not the same as their height. I want to see wingspans be costomizable, and guys like Tayshaun Prince, Kevin Durant, and Javale Mcgee have the crazy wingspans they are famous for.

More legends need to be brought back, like Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley. Aging stars need to be brought back in vintage form. We need young Kobe, Vince Carter, T-mac, and Allen Iverson. They should be usable in most game modes.
Gameplay
Gameplay is the most important aspect of this game, and the most important improvement that needs to be made is speed. Players in 2k12 seem to all be the same speed. You can break out in the open court with Russell Westbrook and somehow the other teams power forward is right behind you. Players with high speeds should be able to burn other players.
Dribble moves need to be more effective, atleast on big men. The inability for a point guard to break down the other team's center is ridiculous. There really needs to be more ankle breakers, but not too many. I don't want players flying all over the place, but once every game or two it would be nice to just make somebody fall.
Defense NEEDS to be improved. The ability to put up 70 points game after game with your superstar needs to be removed. At least have a new set of sliders that will make shot percentages more realistic.
Computer cheese on hall of fame difficulty is at an all time high. There is no question whether the computer is going to make a huge run in the 4th quarter. They hit contested shots, seem to blow by you no matter what, and your help defense is nowhere to be found. All of a sudden there is wide open 3's everywhere. Honestly, don't give the computer an advantage in the 4th for no reason, like that happens in real basketball.
I think that about concludes it, I'll probably add a few things here and there as they pop into my head.

and fix JR SMITH HE FUCKING SUCKS DOESNT DUNK ON PEOPLE
@last comment: Actually, yes. J.R. Smith does dunk on people. And he most certainly doesn't suck.
But back to the point. I agree with every single thing on this list, especially the gameplay. I would like to see the CPU's defense fixed. The CPU's defense is somehow able to defend EVERY SINGLE move on the court, if you try to back down into the post with a Center, they always slap the ball out of his hands, steal it and run into an open layup or dunk on the other end. On to the CPU's offense. They seriously need to fix a few things there as well. For one, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT make guys absolutely unstoppable. Ginobili, for example, scores over 40 points EVERY TIME you compete against him. This happens with a lot of really good players, but the worst thing is that Shawn Marion and Andrea Bargnani are the worst guys to compete against. Shawn Marion somehow manages to score 50+ points against you, not to mention that most of those points he scores by dunking a 360 tomahawk over both the Center and the Power Forward whilst getting an and-one... Bargnani just shoots wherever he gets the ball and it goes in, no matter what. Game winning, fade-away three with two defenders up his nose? Like drinking water, for Bargnani...
I also hate the CPU's shot clock cheese. If the CPU plays out the entire offense, and the shot clock is running out, they ALWAYS blow by the defender for an open layup. It happens EVERY F'IN TIME! I also like the point that the CPU shouldn't be given any advantages in the fourth quarter. Hell, the CPU shouldn't be given any advantages at all. If I'm winning a game by 30 points in the fourth, it still ends up as a 5 point game in the end.
