So what are the top 5 best selling Xbox games of 2012 in the U.S.?

#5-Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Sales this year: 970,254

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier comes in at number 5. It is a great squad based, 3rd person shooter. Future Soldier turned out to be nicely paced, and great looking game. Your team members are easily controlled, and there is a nice long campaign as well as online multiplayer. This combination buoyed sales to much  more than expected and lead it to number 5 on the list of top Xbox games.

#4-NBA 2k12

 Sales this year: 995,658

Next up is one of the kings of sports games, NBA 2K12 . 2k sports does a good job of improving graphics and gameplay year to year, as well as constantly updating and adding game modes. The game seems different each year and that keeps fans coming back and sales moving up. This is one of my personal favorites, and I would recommend it to anyone that is a fan of basketball.

#3-The Elder Scrolls V- Skyrim

Sales this year: 1,104,699

A beautiful fantasy epic, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is honestly one of the best ever made. The map is massive and the people are diverse and full of life. This is the type of game you can honestly lose yourself in for hours, and for that reason alone this game has sold so well. The Elder Scrolls has always had a large following, and they just increased it after this release.

#2-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Sales this year: 1,684,603

The only surprise here is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 isn't number 1. Call of Duty is an absolute juggernaut of a franchise, each release is near the top of the sales chart, if not the top. They are well made games, and each game has enough new content to keep players drooling for the next release. Great graphics, great gameplay, and great multiplayer make this one hard to compete with.

#1-Mass Effect 3

Sales this year: 2,367,863

A great game to end a great series with a questionable ending. Nonetheless, Mass Effect 3  is a game for the ages, and it's sales reflect that. It was the most hyped release of 2012, and it delivered. The Mass Effect series is personally one of my favorites, and it's sad to see it end.
